If life is more than just stuff...
...then what is life all about? This is obviously an enormous question to ask, and yet I think that it is the type of question that I ask myself many times throughout my week. The reason that I'm thinking this way right now, is because I've just stumbled over a verse in Luke 12:15 where Jesus says "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's [and woman's] life does not consist in the abundance of his [her] possessions." Now, I've always been a person who has agreed with this theme; life isn't about the stuff we own. Why do I say that? I think the superficiality of placing infinite value upon possessions, appearance, and status is pretty obvious. It robs the individual of their worth by passing an initial, and perhaps continual, judgment upon them for what they look like, the outer life, rather than the person that the are within their spirit. I know personally, that I sometimes really struggle communicating with others what is going on inside my head, and even when I can put it into words it can sometimes come out all wrong. So, if life isn't about stuff then what is life all about?

Hey Sime,
I've said this in Veta before, but for me personally, life is about knowing that we have been given so much stuff (both superficial and meaningful) by God, and that we then have a (and I believe it is...) privilege to share them with others. This is what makes me passionate about things like Africa Aid.
Peace,
Chongy
PS Notice how I'm willing to comment? hehe. Now that you have, you will learn, commenting is good.
Thanks for your comment (including the will to make such a stand in regards to commenting on blog sites). Privilege and responsibility go hand in hand.
